At the end of 2011 the Ministry of Education of China (“MoE”) specified the award and verification of any certificate issued by a Sino-foreign educational cooperation project/institute. 

The Ministry of Education of China (“MoE”) has released an opinion on the establishment of higher education universities and colleges within the 12th 5-year plan spanning 2011 to 2016 and was helpfully summarised by our colleagues at Martin Hu & Partners. 

The Bill proposes to allow foreign educational institutions to set up campuses in India subject to recognition by the Central Government of the institution. The foreign education providers would have to obtain recognition and approval by the Central Government for the purposes of degree and/or diploma awarding powers in India.
