In July 2021 we blogged about the launch of a consultation the building safety levy. Well now the government has launched another consultation in relation to the levy which looks at, among other things:

  • exclusions from payment of the levy. 
  • how the levy is applied ie per unit or per square metre.
  • possible differential rates depending on geographical area and whether it is a brownfield or greenfield site. 
  • at what point in time the levy should be paid.
