Inquests and the relevance of presumptions and burdens of proof

The recent judgment in R (Bryan) v HM Assistant Coroner for Buckinghamshire provides guidance on the approach required at inquests when addressing the question of insanity in the context of a possible finding of unlawful killing. The case concerned the tragic death of a mother and her three-year-old daughter.
