Annual charity challenge raises nearly £11,000

More than 100 members of the Mills & Reeve team put their bodies on the line during a weekend of various physical challenges to raise money for the Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT).

The main challenge included hiking the summit of the Old Man of Coniston, gorge scrambling in Church Beck and canoeing around the shores of Coniston Water in the Lake District. The Mills & Reeve Cycle Club also got involved, successfully making it from London to Paris over the same weekend.

AKT are a national LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity. They provide invaluable support and safe accommodation to vulnerable young people, helping them to escape abusive and unsafe environments. The charity also equips them with the skills and finances to help them move into independent living.

One in four young people at risk of homelessness identifies as LGBTQ+ and are at a significantly higher risk of exposure to a range of experiences that are associated with becoming homeless, most notably parental rejection, physical violence, emotional abuse and mental ill health.

To date we are delighted to have raised £10,874. If you would like to contribute, please visit our Just Giving page.
