Mills & Reeve advises international healthcare group Bupa on the sale of Bupa Home Healthcare

Bupa has agreed the sale of its Bupa Home Healthcare service to Celesio, a leading healthcare services company. 

Bupa Home Healthcare is a leading provider of high quality home healthcare services supporting over 35,000 patients across the UK. The organisation works in partnership with the NHS, pharmaceutical industry and private medical insurers to support patients with a range of conditions. Over recent years the business has grown substantially and provides clinical care for a number of conditions including those that require speciality medicines such as Intestinal Failure, Lysosomal Storage Disorder, Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. The company has a national nursing team, its own aseptic manufacturing facilities and around 1,000 employees across the UK. 

Celesio UK comprises LloydsPharmacy, AAH Pharmaceuticals, Evolution Homecare, LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor and Betterlife.

The deal completed on 1 July following clearance by the CMA.
