Business in the Community was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales 40 years ago. Its members collaborate to advance the responsible business agenda, which includes driving continual, responsible improvement, prioritising actions that benefit communities and having a positive impact on the environment.
Businesses have an important role to play in addressing major societal challenges. Mills & Reeve is committed to making the UK a better place in which to live and work, and a world leader in responsible business.
Being part of the network is a public commitment to improving responsible business practice, and collaborating with other members to support communities. It connects well with the firm’s work keeping pace with the changes, challenges and opportunities in the fast-moving field of ESG.
Jessica Wilkes-Ball, Sustainability Manager at Mills & Reeve, said: “I have had the pleasure of working with BiTC previously and I am delighted to be able to bring Mills & Reeve into their membership. We are on an ambitious ESG journey and the support and insight which we will be able to access will help us enormously. We have been proud signatories of the Race at Work Charter for several years and we look forward to joining their regional boards and accessing their invaluable consultancy and events programme.”
Amanda Mackenzie, Chief Executive Officer, Business in the Community, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mills & Reeve into membership. Our members recognise the huge benefits that come from managing their businesses in a responsible and sustainable way, and we look forward to working with all of our members – established and new – supporting them on their responsible business journeys.”
“We aim to help and inspire companies to address three campaigning areas – their People, the Planet, and the Place in which they operate. By working together to tackle social and environmental issues, businesses in membership with us can truly become a force for good in society.”
