It is with huge sadness that Mills & Reeve has announced the tragic death of Stuart Knowles.
Stuart was a highly regarded health and care lawyer, with a particular specialism in inquests, who joined Mills & Reeve as a partner in their Birmingham office in 1998. He retired in 2004 to train as a BBC journalist. He then resumed his legal career as an in-house lawyer with the NHS before re-joining Mills & Reeve as a consultant in 2008. Stuart was also a great radio enthusiast and ran the hospital radio at the Dudley Road Hospital for some time as well as the radio station at the national NHS Confederation Conference each year.
Justin Ripman, senior partner of Mills & Reeve, said: “Stuart was a larger than life character with boundless energy and enthusiasm. His death is an enormous loss to Mills & Reeve, the Birmingham office and to his colleagues and clients in the health & care sector.”
