The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate based on the actual cost of living. It differs to the Government’s recently announced National Living Wage by being independently-calculated based on what people need to get by.
Over 14,000 employers voluntarily pay the real Living Wage, which is currently £12 across the UK and £13.15 in London.
Mills & Reeve has been paying a real Living Wage to our people for over ten years, however, receiving this accreditation further demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that every employee at Mills & Reeve will earn a fair and real Living Wage, including third-party contracted staff.
The firm also financially supports our people in our annual all staff bonus. Everyone contributes to the growth of the business in different ways and paying out this bonus in successful years is a great way to recognise this.
Sandy Boyle, Director of HR at Mills & Reeve, commented: “We’re pleased to have received real Living Wage accreditation. While we were already paying the real Living Wage at Mills & Reeve, this recognition highlights our continued commitment to our people by providing financial security and support during the increasing cost of living.
"Being a leader in people experience is a key strand of our 2025 strategy. Last year we were proud to achieve Platinum Investors in People status, and our most recent employee survey revealed that 99% of respondents would recommend Mills & Reeve as a great place to work. The real Living Wage accreditation marks another milestone in our journey to achieving our 2025 goals.”
