She’s one Elle of a keeper!

Paddington Women’s Football Club has announced the signing of 24 year old goalkeeper Elisa ‘Elle’ Henry.

The French international, and inspiring heroine to fans on and off the pitch, initially ‘shot to stardom’ for France at the 2019 Women’s World Cup. Her recent signing by Paddington WFC shows their clear intent to invest in the women’s team, and reflects the FA’s four year strategy “Inspiring Positive Change” unveiled in October 2020 which pledges to create a sustainable future for female football in England.

When she’s not protecting the goal, Elle is a positive role model to many young people, particularly in the ‘banlieues’ (low income housing projects) and works closely to support her own neighbourhood, Bondy. She is also a strong advocate for LGBTQ and minority rights, and is a firm believer in the power of sport to drive social change.

Paddington Women’s Football Club manager, Caroline Clarke, said: “It’s brilliant that Paddington has been able to attract a player of Elle’s ability. There is no doubt she will be vital in ensuring that the club grows from strength to strength in the years to come”.
