The guide ranked the team in Band 1 overall, along with the Birmingham, Cambridge, Manchester and Norwich teams. The guide also ranked the teams in band 1 as national leaders outside of London. A commenter said: "They've got a good network across the country, and they are growing their international focus. It's a very strong firm in the UK legal and tax market".
Another commenter was impressed by the firm’s national presence: "There's no other law firm that's replicated that model. They've got a depth in each area and cumulatively they have a huge amount of experience."
Also making it into the top band as individual practitioners for private wealth law are John Grundy and Matthew Hansell in Birmingham, Chris Belcher in Cambridge, Andrew Playle in Leeds, Virginia Edgecombe and Greg Laming in Norwich. David Catchpole was also ranked in band 1 in Norwich for his private wealth disputes work.
The guide also ranked Suzanne Kingston, who joined the team from Withers in April, in band 1 in the UK Family and Matrimonial work. Suzanne is known as the “queen of arbitration” and one commenter remarked: “She's probably one of the best mediators and arbitrators in London". Another recent joiner, Sarah Cormack, was also ranked in the guide for the first time since joining the firm.
This year, Ellie Milner and Elizabeth Field join Alex Hunt as “Associates to watch” while senior partner Justin Ripman is named as an eminent practitioner.
