What can Catherine do for you?
Catherine specialises in contentious insolvency law. She advises office holders on matters arising from liquidations and bankruptcies and on bringing claims under the Insolvency Act 1986 to recover assets for creditors.
As an experienced commercial litigator, Catherine has acted on a wide range of disputes, including breach of contract and partnership disputes.
Catherine also advises on licensing law.
Supporting your ambitions
Recent highlights of Catherine’s work include securing the sale of a bankrupt’s land in another jurisdiction, thereby securing funds to enable a significant return to creditors, and working with a commercial client to secure full payment of a debt.
Recognising that any dispute carries risk, Catherine works with her clients to identify the areas of risk and concern and to ascertain what outcome the client wants to achieve. In insolvency cases, this is generally a return to creditors. In commercial matters, a good outcome may be an exit agreement from an unfavourable contract, or settling a matter by mediation.
