Since qualifying as a solicitor in 2005, Emma has developed substantial experience in a wide range of areas of general risk management.
Emma has particular experience within the higher education and public sector spheres, including on matters of public and administrative law, litigation, and governance (including constitutional powers and constraints). She also has expertise in freedom of information and data protection.

Emma has significant experience of conducting appeals against decisions of the Information Commissioner’s Office on behalf of public authorities in the Information Tribunal, both at the First-Tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal levels.
Emma’s knowledge and expertise has enabled her to assist numerous clients in utilising lawful strategies to avoid the need to disclose sensitive information to “the world at large” under information law, often helping them to avoid serious adverse consequences.
