Michelle is a senior associate in the contentious data protection team at Mills & Reeve and specialises in litigious and advisory data protection matters. She initially trained in civil litigation and defense claims on behalf of insurers, gaining significant experience working in house. Michelle gradually gravitated towards regulatory matters and specialises in data protection due to her enjoyment of the field and the opportunity to combine legal and operational know how. Michelle now uses her experience to support clients in the increasingly challenging and evolving data protection space.

Michelle offers bespoke guidance for clients to achieve policy, process, and risk management requirements whilst navigating clients through an array of data protection obligations.

Michelle has worked within legal and in house privacy teams on a very practical level supporting policy and process, data protection impact assessments, data breach responses, subject access requests and assisting procurement and due diligence intersections. She has considerable experience designing and delivering internal process and training solutions. Michelle is accredited to IAPP CIPM standard and holds a data protection practitioner certificate in data protection with the Chartered Institute for IT.
