Andrew is a recognised leader in the field of political violence insurance. He acted for the successful reinsurers in Hamilton v Afghan Global, Anham and ors [2024] EWHC 1426 (Comm), the first ever standalone political violence policy dispute to come before the English courts.
He is known by his clients for giving concise, clear, frank, and straightforward advice. Clients are represented robustly in litigation or arbitration where necessary, and/or in mediation where appropriate.
Andrew advises on all kinds of commercial disputes, both domestically and internationally.
Andrew originally qualified and practised first as as a barrister in 1999, graded "very competent". He qualified also as a solicitor-advocate in 2002 and now practises as a solicitor-advocate.

Andrew has a BA Russian & East European History at UCL's School of Slavonic & E. European Studies, MA in Modern History at UCL, and studied Russian language and culture at St Petersburg University, Russia in the 1990s.
