Our team of lawyers specialises in work for education clients. They understand the sector and its culture and collaborate with other legal specialists across the firm where required.

When advising on all aspects of employment law we use our knowledge of sector specific issues such as:

• Amending Statutes and Instruments and Articles of Government to ensure that procedures for academic staff are appropriate.
• Advising on disciplinary and performance hearings and employment tribunal claims including for academic staff.
• Advising on employment aspects of FE mergers.
• Advising on safeguarding issues.
• Advising institutions on the employment of overseas staff including “flying faculty” and on the recruitment of international staff, including visas and related compliance issues.

Our relationships with our clients are long term. We provide employment advice to almost 50 higher education institutions, more than 15 further education colleges, and approximately 25 other educational bodies.
